I visited the park today and much of it resembles a wasteland. What happened? Where are all the plants?
Sorry you thought that. When were you there before 3/6? The central part of the park was supposed to be a grassland but it turned into a weedland. I had expressed concern about this part of the park during the planning stage. Anyway, the city then dumped mulch on it to try to control the weeds. We will be planting it out over time - several years - with low growing scrub plants so the birds have low, medium and high cover.
Hi again, Daisy,
I was at the park today for the clean-up. Indeed, it seems someone, probably TruGreen with city oversight, was fairly busy with some herbicide. Though they mostly went after weeds, there were other plants that got it too. I will be contacting them.
I am hoping to start planting out the central part of the park next fall.
Barbara
